5 Great Places to Go on a Kansas City Date Night

Couple date nightWhen’s the last time you enjoyed a fun, romantic, intimate, and sexy night out on the town? If it’s been a while, the team at Women’s Health Associates is prescribing you a Date Night in Kansas City. That’s right! We’re prescribing it because, as healthcare professionals, we know how important romance and intimacy are to your overall health.

Health Benefits Of a Great Date Night With the One You Love

The more medical researchers have the ability to measure and analyze the biochemistry and physiological responses to love, intimacy, desire, and a healthy sex life, the more we’ve learned how important these things are to overall wellbeing.

Some of the health benefits associated with love, relationship, and a positive sex life include:

â—Ź Reduced the risk of depression and other mental health issues
â—Ź Extended life span
â—Ź Regulated blood pressure and a healthier heart
â—Ź Releases feel-good hormones that boost confidence and feelings of contentedness
â—Ź Reduced stress
â—Ź Immunity boosting
â—Ź A greater sense of life purpose

Date nights are one way to rekindle feelings that have grown stale when the sex drive dwindles. Or shift the energy and chemistry when you’re taking your partner for granted (or vice versa).

5 Great Places to Go on a Kansas City Date Night

After two years of largely dating-in-place and without access to the normal realm of public outings, it’s time to get out of the house and take advantage of all the KC metropolitan area offers.

Here are five great places to put into the date night calendar.

KC Wine Co

1. Head to KC Wine Co for wine, food, and live music

KC Wine Co is Kansas City’s favorite boutique winery. Their Events Calendar is brimming with fun opportunities to enjoy delicious wine, local live music, tastings, great food, and camaraderie with fellow wine appreciators and newbies alike. Best of all, the large majority of their events require no cover charge or fees and do not require reservations either. If you’re pregnant or trying to conceive, skip the wine and enjoy some of their many delicious, non-alcoholic options.

Starlight Theater Kansas City

2. Catch a show at Starlight Theater

The Starlight Theater is alive and well, and boy, do they have a fantastic lineup scheduled from now through the next several months, including concerts, Broadway musicals, and other theater productions. In addition to being one of our area’s landmarks, the Starlight Theater’s indoor and outdoor seating options provide lots of options. It is also one of only two major remaining self-producing outdoor theaters in the U.S.

Depending on your thematic preferences, current show lineups include:

â—Ź H.E.R.
â—Ź Oklahoma
â—Ź Waitress
â—Ź Hairspray
â—Ź REO Speedwagon and Styx
â—Ź Riverdance
â—Ź Chicago & Brian Wilson

Check out their Events Page to find a concert or show you can both enjoy.

Longview Horse Park Kansas City

3. Horseback riding (or viewing) at Longview Horse Park

Tired of the same date night ruts? Dinner and a movie or show are always fun, but why not try something new to both of you? While it might be more of a daytime activity, you can finish the Date Day with a dinner that stretches it into a Date Night.

Longview park offers all kinds of daytime activities, but one you may not have explored yet is horseback riding. The Longview Horse Park sits on 500 acres of beautiful rolling hills and pastures just 20 minutes outside downtown KC. Spring is the perfect season to get outdoors, drive out to Longview Horse Park and enjoy their horseback riding classes and other equestrian events.

4. Shop the Historic City [Farmers] Market

One of the best ways to ensure you’re eating fresh, seasonal, and nutrient-rich foods is to get them directly from the farmer. We’re huge fans of using a healthy diet (anti-inflammatory preferred) as a foundation for all-around good health and wellness.

From May through October, City Farmers Market is open every Saturday and Sunday, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The hours change to 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. from October through December. In addition to fresh fruits, vegetables, and all kinds of herbs and spices (many that may be new to you), the Farmers Market also has vendors selling collectibles, antiques, and gently used items. There are also food and beverage booths, live music, and other forms of entertainment, depending on the weekend.

The Scout Penn Park Kansas City

5. Picnic with The Scout and enjoy stunning views of KC

Located on an apex inside Penn Park, The Scout Statue stands proud. This representation of a Sioux Scout was sculpted by Cyrus E. Dallin back in 1915 for the Panama-Pacific Exposition. KC residents loved it so much that they raised $15K for its purchase and dedicated it to the city in 1922 in honor of her native tribes.

Whether you choose to picnic near The Scout during the day, at sunset, or after dark, it’s an absolutely stunning way to see KC in all of her glory.
